Corneotherapy is not a treatment.

It is a philosophy.

A clinical, science-led approach to skin health that respects the barrier, restores the barrier and trusts the skin to heal itself.

There are only a small number of certified corneotherapists in Australia.

Peggy is one of them.

THE FOUNDING PRINCIPLE

A 50-YEAR-OLD SCIENCE, FINALLY BEING UNDERSTOOD

Pioneered in dermatology. Refined in clinic. Built around one truth.

Corneotherapy was developed by Professor Albert Kligman, the same dermatologist who pioneered the use of retinoic acid in skincare. After decades of research into how the skin actually heals, Kligman observed something most of the industry still ignores.

The skin's outermost layer….the stratum corneum, also known as the barrier.

it is not "dead skin to be exfoliated away." It is a living, intelligent system. When it is intact, the skin functions beautifully. When it is compromised, every concern beneath it gets worse.

Corneotherapy is the practice of working with this barrier instead of against it. Every treatment, every product, every recommendation is chosen to keep the barrier strong, supple, and self-regulating.

When the barrier is restored, the skin remembers how to heal itself.

WHAT MAKES A CORNEOTHERAPIST DIFFERENT….

THE CERTIFICATION.

Anyone can call themselves a skin therapist. Corneotherapy is different. To call yourself a corneotherapist legitimately, you must complete certified training through the International Association for Applied Corneotherapy (IAC). Peggy is one of a small handful of practitioners in Australia to hold this credential.

Walk into any beauty counter and you'll be sold "actives." Acids. Retinols. Aggressive peels. Treatments designed to force the skin into reaction in the hope it rebuilds itself stronger.

For some skins, this works. For many, particularly skin that is sensitive, mature, hormonally shifting, or already compromised… it makes things worse. The barrier is stripped further. Inflammation deepens. Sensitivity becomes chronic.

You then buy more products to manage the new problems.

The cycle continues.

WHY MOST SKINCARE FAILS

Most skincare strips. Corneotherapy restores.

Corneotherapy interrupts this cycle. Skin that heals from the inside doesn't need to be rescued every six weeks.

Your Questions, Answered

  • Corneotherapy is exceptional for any skin. It is essential for skin that has been compromised, confused, or is now changing due to hormone shifts like perimenopause, menopause and beyond.

    Women in perimenopause and menopause-

Hormonal shifts thin the skin, reduce its hydration, and weaken the barrier. Generic skincare designed for younger skin often makes it worse. Corneotherapy is built for this season and adapts as you do.

    Sensitive, reactive, or compromised skin-

Rosacea. Eczema. Persistent sensitivity. Skin that flares from every new product. Many of our most loyal clients arrived after years of failed protocols. Corneotherapy is often the first thing that finally works.

Anyone wanting longevity over quick fixes-

If you are tired of being sold the next miracle, the next acid, the next reset then corneotherapy is the alternative. Skin that is supported, not strained. Results that hold, not relapse.

  • Corneotherapists are trained in the biology of the stratum corneum, the lipid matrix, the microbiome, and how each interacts with hormones, age, and lifestyle. Treatments are prescribed based on what the barrier needs, never on what's on promotion.

  • Every corneotherapy consultation begins with a full skin analysis — barrier function, hydration, sensitivity, inflammation, pigmentation, and history. We assess what is happening before we recommend a single product.

  • Corneotherapists work with a refined toolkit — bespoke Dermaviduals formulations, Crystal Clear treatments, and modalities like SQT Bio-Microneedling and LED. We do not chase trends. We do not cycle products every six months. We work with what we know works.

  • Corneotherapy is not a course of facials. It is a relationship. Your skin will shift through seasons, hormones, and life. Your protocol shifts with it — informed by ongoing reviews, not one-off sales.

  • We offer flexible pricing based on project type and complexity. After an initial conversation, we’ll provide a transparent treatment plan with no hidden costs so you will know exactly what it will entail.

  • Collaborative, honest, and straightforward. Peggy is here to guide the process, bring ideas to the table, and keep things moving in the direction that is best for you and your skin at the exact timing in your life.

YOUR FIRST CONSULTATION

What happens when you come to Luxe?

We begin with a thorough conversation about your skin, your history, your hormones, your habits, your hopes. You are not on a clock. You are being heard.

STEP i. The analysis

A clinical skin analysis maps your barrier function, hydration, sensitivity, and surface concerns. We see what is actually happening not what is presumed.

STEP ii. The plan

Peggy designs a personalised protocol combining bespoke Dermaviduals or Crystal Clear formulations, targeted in-clinic treatments, and lifestyle considerations. Transparent. No upselling. No pressure.

STEP iii. The relationship

We schedule your follow-up reviews usually at 6 weeks, 12 weeks, and seasonally thereafter. Your protocol evolves as your skin does.
